First, the rumors said that Fadi Fawaz was banned from George Michael’s funeral. When Fadi attended the funeral, the rumors then claimed that he gatecrashed the funeral!
RadarOnline reported that “Fawaz ‘completely crashed’ the services.” The site mentioned that “Fadi was smart to arrive last because the services had already started and he was able to get past security without causing a huge drama.”

Security at George Michael’s funeral was extremely tight and every precaution was taken to restrict who can attend and what the public can see. Black drapes covered the scene inside the cemetery to ensure privacy, and these drapes were lifted only to allow the approved cars in. The company that organized the funeral, Leverton and Sons (which also organized Princess Diana’s funeral) will not risk ruining their reputation by allowing gate crashers into the funeral.
Highgate Cemetery was swarming with security for George Michael’s funeral. Only cars that had unique numbers displayed in their windows were allowed inside. As the video of a Daily Star reporter uploaded to Twitter showed, Fadi’s ride had the paper number sign displayed on its dashboard. He arrived in an official car familiar to the security staff at the entrance of the cemetery. This proves that Fadi was an invited guest and that he did not gatecrash the funeral.

In this video from Associated Press of the cars leaving the funeral, Fadi’s car (1:08 in the video) is similar to the rest of the guests and a security detail was riding with him:
If Fadi had ‘gatecrashed’ the funeral, he would have been left outside and not allowed in. As this Twitter user said:

Lovely to read all that, Isabel. A shame all those haters out there will probably ignore it.
