There was intense speculation whether Fadi Fawaz will be invited to George Michael’s funeral, with the tabloids blaring that Fadi is banned from attending.
On February 11, The Sun blared that Fadi was banned from the funeral.
The tabloid’s declaration was based on an interview with Andros Georgiou. Andros told The Sun that Fadi was not welcomed at the funeral saying, “Heaven help him if he turned up. Fadi has not been invited to the funeral — the family hate him.” He added:

“They know what he is, and everyone basically thinks he’s a gold-digger. He was never going to be invited — and Yog (George) was planning to get rid of him after Christmas anyway. Fadi was not really his boyfriend. No one has spoken to him and he just seems to be getting on with his life. It makes my stomach turn.”
Since the death of George, Andros has been all over the media with his various different takes on what may or may not have happened in the days leading up to George’s death. He even revealed what outfit George will be buried in, down to his accessories.
Andros’ statements to The Sun were met by a vehement denial from Fadi. He took to Twitter to emphatically deny that he has been banned from the funeral:

On March 29, 2017, the funeral of George Michael was finally held three months after his sudden death. It was a small, private ceremony at the Highgate Cemetery in North London, where George’s mom is also buried.
And yes, Fadi Fawaz attended the funeral. He may be the last to arrive, but the fact remains that Fadi was one of the small group of family and friends who said goodbye to George at his funeral. Daily Star captured on video the arrival of Fadi to the funeral:
The next day, Mirror Online reported that Fadi has been in touch with George’s sister Melanie about the funeral putting to rest claims that he has been frozen out from the funeral preparations:
Contrary to reports, Fadi was also in touch with George’s sister Melanie Panayiotou, 55, who organised the funeral at Highgate cemetery in north London last Wednesday … Melanie had been in touch with Fadi and spoken to him about the funeral.
