Criticisms against Kenny Goss’ series of interviews with The Sun continue to build up, as media outlets reported on the growing backlash from George Michael’s fans.
Mirror Online wrote that George Michael fans criticize Kenny Goss for revealing secrets of the singer’s private family funeral. It said that some fans feel that Kenny had “betrayed” their idol by sharing too much about the late star and for revealing intimate details about the star’s private life.
One comment that Mirror Online cited describes Kenny’s action as selling out:
“Bit sad that Kenny Goss has sold out to The Sun with stories after George’s death”
Intelligent Gossip was the first to report about the sell out of Kenny Goss.
The Daily Star echoed the same sentiments, reporting that Kenny Goss angered fans by blurting out his secrets and details about the star’s private life. According to the newspaper, “fans are furious with Kenny for going against family wishes and spilling the beans.” Some of the comments that the Daily Star highlights are:
“Kenny Goss doing the dirty on ‘soulmate’ George Michael.”
“Kenny Goss how could you.”
“Shame on Kenny Goss trying to gain second hand fame. The family wanted a private service.”
Some comments even describe Kenny as a “leech,” such as this one posted in The Sun:
“Kenny Goss the magnificent hidden leech continues to build his fake image of the long suffering loyal, selfless partner. Oh yes those arrests. Good for Goss the Sun is too stupid to include some basic psychology about the sort of relationship that spawned GM’s behaviour.”
“Wonder what’s really going on in Goss’ head with him exploiting GM’s embarrassing moments and experiences that he had to publicly endure. He is dead so is the spite useful?”
“And of course it’s in the name of mental health education and supposed love. Or is it really because he thought he didn’t get his fair share? The other leech Fadi got all the attention when GM died so Goss needs to remind him who is the better leech I guess.”
The late George Michael’s former partner Kenny Goss gave a series of interviews with The Sun about the late singer resulting in six (6) stories, as follows:

In a chat with his fans on Instagram, Kenny defended his action to sell his stories to the Sun. He explained that he has spoken out about his former partner George Michael in a bid to raise awareness for his charity. The charity is currently raising funds for a wide variety of endeavors, such as UNICEF, MTV Staying Alive, North Texas Food Bank, Planned Parenthood: Greater Texas, and The Family Place.
It remains to be seen how the backlash of Kenny Goss selling out to The Sun will impact The Goss-Michael Foundation, the charity that he co-founded with George. Despite all the publicity, online crowdfunding has raised only a paltry sum of $1,900 as of this writing (this does not include fees from the interviews).
He also felt that he would not have disappointed George by talking to The Sun; after all, he did not reveal anything new:
“I don’t think I would have disappointed George at all. Maybe I am wrong. He asked me to help people as a mission in life. With MTV Staying Alive alone we have raised $12 million. I told everyone something they already new (sic) about us.”
“I said nothing that the entire world probably did not know.”
Kenny also appeared on the television show This Morning to discuss his life with George Michael:
In the interview, Kenny revealed that he regrets opening up about George Michael’s drug use, saying:
I kind of wish I hadn’t said that in the interview the other day.
You know how you’re in an interview and you say something and it sounds okay when you say it but now it has been used against me.
One sticking point with the fans was his choice of publication to run the interviews. George Michael has previously claimed that The Sun’s owner Rupert Murdoch have tried to destroy him.

As such, fans felt that Kenny going to The Sun was a betrayal to George. Kenny refuted this charge and explained that George Michael:
“… He could have cared less if it was the Sun. They paid the most money. I would never betray him.”
George Michael’s close friend and former WHAM! bandmate Shirlie Kemp spoke up and said that it has “been a very sad week and so hurtful for @GeorgeMichael family, friends and fans.”

No matter how you try to justify this it is a betrayal of a man you claimed to love!
You also insult his choice of partner by wondering what he saw in Fadi saying he was the opposite of you! Have you considered that may be the reason he chose him! I do not hear Fadi selling out his private life with George!
What you did was betray the man you say you loved… funny way of showing your love for someone Kenny Goss … you say you gained the families permission clearly not …. your words were hurtful to the family his true friends and us … his fans … hope you can live with your self
I learned that Kenny didn’t love George when he was seen frolicking SEVERAL times with Geri Halliwell for several years. The 1st encounter was when they all lived together o.k. St. Tropez. It was reported that Kenny and Geri were caught in a sexual act. He frequently was seen out with Geri shopping, on dinner dates, etc. If he loved George like he said, why would he be caught supposedly having sex with a woman on 1 of George’s homes? If he was going to do that, it should have been elsewhere.
If you think that was something, rumors are flying that Kenny slept with a woman, Geri Halliwell, while living with George and Halliwell. They were seen out SEVERAL times together holding hands when George was out of town. I have lots SOOO much respect for Mr. Goss. BTW, if he’s gay, what was up with him and Geri. They appeared intimate on 99% of the photos.
